Welcome to Butchers Creek State School

Welcome to Butchers Creek State School. Our small rural school is situated near Malanda on the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland, and proudly celebrated its hundredth year in 2013. It has a proud and rich history that is treasured by the many generations that have been and continue to be, educated here.

The Butchers Creek State School learning community values academic excellence and encourages each learner to develop their potential in a supportive, caring environment. Each person is valued and respected, every interaction is important.

The school has wonderful grounds which include playgrounds (both outdoor and covered), sandpits, an oval and sporting fields and student gardens. Generous building space allows for students to enjoy music and drama facilities, a science and art laboratory, spacious classroom learning areas and an extensive library. Student learning benefits from modern technologies including interactive whiteboards, mobile devices and laptops.

Our school motto, “Strive as one”, is supported by our dedicated, caring body of parents and partnerships formed with the wider community.
